Northwest Festival News
The Seattle Wine Society traditionally sponsored a prestigious wine competition for wines produced only in the northwest every summer, The Northwest Wine Festival.

Will there be another Wine Festival?

From 1976 through 2006, the Enological Society (a/k/a the Seattle Wine Society) conducted an annual judging of Northwest Wines. For many years, this judging played an important role in the development of the Northwest Wine industry and the judging has been recognized as a premier judging event in the country.

We came to realize, however, that with the industry's exponential growth, it wasn't possible to cover the breadth, depth and quality of the wines of the Pacific Northwest with the type of judging event we had traditionally undertaken. Therefore, we have taken time out to assess if and how we can reorganize, focus and/or consolidate resources of the Society and the Seattle wine community to develop and produce a high quality judging/event that creates valuable and exciting information for our members and the public about the great wines produced in our region.

In place of the 2007 festival, we presented an array of award-winning Washington wines, Stars of Washington: Wines of Distinction.
