Virtual Travel: The 22nd Annual
International Wine Fair

February 23, 2002 at South Seattle Community College

Valuable Learning Experience Through Wines and Seminars

Seminars \ Volunteer

The International Wine Fair is great opportunity to become more aware of the world of wines and diverse cultures in which they were developed. As a virtual tourist in 2002, you can visit the taste sensations of the major wine-producing areas of the world. We will feature a balance between the rare wines of the world and value wines from exotic wine-producing lands. Accompanying these fine wines will be appetizers representing the flavors of many of these countries. Fine cheeses and elegant breads will be available for free. As usual, fresh oysters and chocolate truffles will available for scrip.

In addition to four free food tastes and the complimentry cheeses and breads, you will receive a tasting glass, a program of the wines, admission to one seminar, plus ten scrip tickets to spend on wine, seminar or food. Members of the Enological Society receive five extra scrip tickets — a good incentive to join us. The cost of the Fair will be $40 in advance, $45 at the door.

New Hours and New Location for Your Convenience

The hours have been changed to 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. to suit more busy schedules. The Brockey Center, the student union building at SSCC, is ours for the event. The Center is at the south end of SSCC, and adjacent is a large parking lot for attendees to use at no charge.

Do You Have a Wine Suggestion?

If you have a favored wine varietal or region you would like us to consider, please phone Fair Chairman John Imre at 206-322-3704 or contact Andria at Abovey@aol.com. It's your Fair and we'll do our best to feature wines that interest you.

Seminars Offer Special Learning Focus

Seminars offered for this upcoming Fair will take us from the Andes highlands to sunny isles.

Argentine Wines: A new group of fine wines from high altitude, low crop vineyards is now available. The quality is astounding and flavors unforgettable.

Southern France: We have an enthusiastic and knowledgeable speaker to key in on some of the hottest producers in this region.

Dessert Wines: Luscious and oozing with exotic flavors - the nuances linger on your palate. Two or three countries will be featured, along with their signature "sweeties."

Become a Committee Chair

We still have a few chair positions available for the Fair. Contact Fair Chairman John Imre (206-322-3704) if you would like to find out about positions still available. It promises to be an exciting event - and to be an active volunteer brings you in contact with other wine lovers in our Puget Sound neighborhood.

Become a Volunteer

More than a hundred volunteers are needed to put on an event of this magnitude at a price that makes this Fair an extraordinary bargain. There are a wide variety of tasks, some taking more time and energy than others. It is a great opportunity to share in the active Northwest wine community! Volunteer Coupon
